Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan Inc. (TSX:POT,NYSE:POT) announced that it’s made a private proposal to negotiate the acquisition of K+S Aktiengesellschaft (SWX:SDF).

Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan Inc. (TSX:POT,NYSE:POT) announced that it’s made a private proposal to negotiate the acquisition of K+S AG (SWX:SDF). Based in Germany, K+S is Europe’s largest supplier of potash for use in fertilizer. It’s also the world’s largest salt producer.

As quoted in the press release:

There is no certainty that any offer will ultimately be made or as to the terms on which such an offer might be made.

PotashCorp does not intend to make any additional comments on this matter at this time unless and until it is appropriate to do so, or a formal agreement has been reached.
