BHP Billiton’s Jansen project moves into next stage of development

Calgary Herald reports that BHP Billiton Ltd. (NYSE:BHP) has moved its Jansen potash project into the feasibility stage.

The market news is quoted as saying:

The company says putting the project into the advanced category — part of its project approvals process — reflects its commitment to the project, the province and the country. In December 2010, BHP Billiton submitted the Environmental Impact Statement for the project to the Saskatchewan government, and last year, it announced $240 million US in pre-commitment funding for the early development of Jansen.
