The Brock Press reports that the TSE and the LSE have recently entered into discussions on the possibility of a merger.

Canada is a country with vast, rich natural resources, and is home to the 1500 mining and resource firms listed on the TSE. The LSE, on the other hand, has few – totalling roughly 150 listings, albeit large and wealthy companies. The merger could affect just how effective the TSX is for mining and resource companies in Canada, which it is largely built around.
