China’s Inner Mongolia Consolidates Rare-Earth Producers

Bloomberg reported that the consolidation of 35 rare-earth producers in Mongolia is nearing completion.

The market news is quoted as saying:

Inner Mongolia accounts for more than 75 percent of China’s production of rare earths, used in wind turbines, hybrid cars and guided missiles. The government is driving consolidation in strategic industries to create profitable companies.
