Reuters reported that Sterlite Resources has declared force majeure for copper deliveries and on purchases of copper concentrate as a gas leak at their Indian copper smelter has forced them to close at least until next week.

As quoted in the market report:

The smelter, which produces more than 300,000 tonnes per year – over half of India’s copper output – was shut last week by local authorities at least until a hearing on April 9 into the complaints.
