Mining Weekly(Editorial) reports that the Department of Primary Industries and Resources of South Australia is working on developing a new set of guidelines for recovery of uranium mining projects.

The editorial is quoted as saying:

Speaking at a uranium conference in Adelaide, Koutsantonis said that the new guidelines acknowledged the significant differences between traditional open-cut and underground mining methodology, and the in-situ recovery process.

“The aim of the new guidelines is to ensure best practice, streamline processes and enable joint assessment while reducing duplication across agencies,” he told delegates at the conference hosted by Paydirt Media.
