As quoted in the market news:

The new 2MW model, using electrical excitation rather than magnets to start the turbine, will go on sale in 2012…Dongfang’s 2.5MW electrical-excitation direct-drive model will be ready by the end of the year, says Chen Gang, vice-general manager at the company’s New Energy equipment business unit.
