Reuters reports Southern Copper (NYSE:SCCO) has postponed the company’s $1 billion Tia Maria mining project in Peru.
The market news is quoted as saying:
Tia Maria would produce 120,000 tonnes of copper a year, according to Southern Copper, a subsidiary of Mexican miner Grupo Mexico (GMEXICOB.MX). Peru is the world’s third-largest copper producer.
