ArcelorMittal cuts Belgian finished steel production

Itri. com reports that ArcelorMittal (AMS:MT,NYSE:MT)  plans to among other things, shut down a tinplate line in Q1 of 2011.

The story is quoted as saying:

 The decision to idle the equipment comes in response to the weak market situation at the moment, and the equipment will be restarted as soon as the economic situation will allow, a spokesperson for the Belgian steelworks said. The Liège plant is ArcelorMittal’s smallest tin mill operation in Europe, with most production coming from its plants in France and Spain
