Mining Weekly reported that Uganda has invited bids to restart production at the Kilembe copper mines, which have been idle since the 1980’s.

As quoted in the market report:
The east African nation’s Department of Geological Survey and Mines says Kilembe has an estimated 4-million tons of ore, of which 1.98% is estimated to be pure copper and 0.17% cobalt.
