Like gold, silver rose early in today’s session, but eventually fell, dropping $0.08, to $19.61 an ounce, according to Bloomberg.

“The market is going to be very choppy and nervous today,” Michael Smith, president of T&K Futures & Options in Port St. Lucie, Florida, told the source. “The data has got some investors worried that tapering may begin this year.”

Early session silver prices benefited from speculative buying as traders awaited an announcement regarding the Federal Reserve’s plans for its $85-million monthly bond-buying program, according to Reuters.
