Continued Unrest In South Africa Supports Platinum Prices

Platts reported as strikes continue in South Africa, analysts predict platinum prices will remain supported.

HSBC Senior Analyst, Jim Steel said:

Although the loss of production due to strikes is not causing noticeable supply shortages, the possibility that strike action may spread to other platinum group metal producers is buoying PGM prices. Without any near term resolution in sight, we believe PGM prices will be well supported.
