Metal Bulletin reported that Umicore SA (EBR:UMI) saw the revenues for its cobalt and specialty metals division rise “substantially” during 2014’s third quarter.
Metal Bulletin reported that Umicore SA (EBR:UMI) saw the revenues for its cobalt and specialty metals division rise “substantially” during 2014′s third quarter.
As quoted in the market news:
[The rise was] boosted by the acquisition of Palm Commodities and rising nickel compound sales.
The cobalt and nickel refining operations also benefited from higher refining charges as a result of a better mix and higher nickel prices. This helped to push earnings at Umicore’s Energy unit up 5%, the Belgium-based company said in its third-quarter results. At Umicore’s overall business, revenues were up 1%…
