Trevali Intersects Significant Sulphide Mineralization Outside Current Resource at Caribou
Trevali Mining Corp. (TSX:TV,OTCQX:TREVF,FWB:4TI) intersected massive sulphide mineralization outside the defined Measured and Indicated Resource at the Caribou Zinc Mine in New Brunswick. Drill hole BR-1014A hit 50.9 metres of the massive sulphide mineralization at a downhole depth of 607 metres grading 5.08% zinc, 1.76% lead, 0.37% copper, 59.66 g/t silver & 1.63 g/t gold. The current drill campaign aims to convert the currently defined 3.66-million tonne Inferred Resource to Indicated or higher confidence levels, as well as to follow up significant drill intercepts such as BR-1014A.

As quoted in the press release:
Drill hole BR-1014A was designed to test the northwest down-plunge extension of the “Caribou Mineral Horizon” at intermediate depths, which remains relatively underexplored (Figure 1 & 2).
The hole intersected 50.9 metres of massive sulphide mineralization at a downhole depth of 607 metres (vertical depth of approximately 550 metres) grading 5.08% Zn, 1.76% Pb, 0.37% Cu, 59.66 g/t Ag & 1.63 g/t Au, within which several higher-grade intervals occur including 5 metres of 7.28% Zn, 2.41% Pb, 0.38% Cu, 82 g/t Ag & 2.09 g/t Au (Table 1). Immediately underlying this interval was a thin copper-rich lens grading 1.4% Cu, 0.8% Zn, 24.65g/t Ag & 0.2 g/t Au over 2.3 metres that may represent a local “feeder” source (Table 1). 1Intervals are presently estimated at 65-70% of true thickness.
The Company is currently finalizing detailed plans for an approximately 10,000-metre underground resource conversion and expansion drill program that is anticipated to commence in the latter half of 2015 when the Caribou Mine is fully dewatered. The primary aim of the campaign will be to convert a significant portion of the currently defined 3.66-million tonne Inferred Resource to Indicated or higher confidence levels, in addition to following up on significant drill intercepts such as BR-1014A that remain outside the current geological resource base.
