Alpha Natural Resources Completes Sale of Amfire Mining Assets

Alpha Natural Resources (NYSE:ANR) subsidiary AMFIRE Mining Company has completed the divestiture of substantially all of its assets to Rosebud Mining. Alpha Natural affiliates will still operate two mines in southwestern Pennsylvania not connected with the transaction.

As quoted in the press release:

The transaction included total consideration of approximately $86 million, including $75 million in cash and the assumption of certain liabilities. The assets, which include ten mines and four preparation plants and loadouts, are located in Cambria, Centre, Clearfield, Elk, Greene, Indiana and Somerset counties, Pennsylvania.
