Newcastle Coal Prices Fall as Lunar New Year Approaches

Platts reported that Newcastle thermal coal prices fell as Chinese demand dropped off.

As quoted in the market news:

Premium quality Newcastle thermal coal was trading at $116/mt FOB during Asian trading hours Friday, and on a Newcastle 5,500 kcal/kg NAR basis, these offers worked out to $99-100/mt FOB.
