Pending Appeal Threatens Sterlite’s Smelter Re-Opening

Reuters reported that Sterlite Industries’ Indian copper smelter may face another roadblock before re-opening after being closed since May 7.

As quoted in the Reuters report:

The local pollution board in Tamil Nadu, which had originally ordered the smelter to shut at the end of March after complaints of emissions, has now taken its case to the Supreme Court.
