Copper Production for Chile Forecast at 5.5 Million Tons

Platts reported that SONAMI sees Chile’s 2012 copper production at 5.5 million tons.

As quoted in the market news:

Association President Alberto Salas predicted that copper production in Chile will hit 8 million mt by 2018 as $80 million are invested in the mining industry over the next seven years.
