INN went live for the first time at this year’s PDAC convention, speaking on day one to Lobo Tiggre about which metals will shine in 2019.
Interview conducted by Charlotte McLeod; article text by Georgia Williams.
The Investing News Network went live for the first time at this year’s Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) convention in Toronto, speaking with Lobo Tiggre, CEO of Louis James LLC, on the first day of the show.
Tiggre began by sharing his best stock pick of 2018, as well as which metal he thinks will reign supreme in 2019. “My best investment was — a particular stock would be SilverCrest Metals (TSXV:SIL,NYSEAMERICAN:SILV),” he said.
“It just popped. It was a company I’d known from before, and it was what I see as an example of success in process. Instead of waiting for the inevitable to become imminent — you know, that famous Rick Rule inevitable/imminent thing — I thought forget imminent, I want happening now … and SilverCrest was happening now.”
Tiggre, who has been a staunch believer in the future of uranium as an in-demand global energy fuel, reaffirmed his stance that uranium is still on its way up.
“I do think uranium’s time has come,” he explained, going on to say that investors should take advantage of broad market volatility to get into the uranium sector.
“I think there’s a particularly great opportunity for investors in that the stocks have been hammered with the broader equities. You could see this last quarter … the uranium stocks would go down with everything else even if uranium was up that time. So a divergence in price and value [is] an opportunity for investors,” he commented.
The discussion then turned to Tiggre’s position on precious metals moving into 2019.
“I’m much more bullish on the precious metals this year,” he said, adding, “we might have this be the year gold finally breaks out of its range … that it’s been in for six years.”
