Drill Moved To East Zone Adjacent Kiena Mine Complex On East-West Gold Property
Val d’Or, Québec, Canada, February 8, 2017 Knick Exploration (TSXV:KNX) is pleased to announce as of last night the drill rig has moved onto the eastern part of Knick’s East-West gold property immediately adjacent Wesdome Gold Mines Ltd. Kiena Mine Complex.
Val d’Or, Québec, Canada, February 8, 2017 Knick Exploration (TSXV:KNX) is pleased to announce as of last night the drill rig has moved onto the eastern part of Knick’s East-West gold property immediately adjacent Wesdome Gold Mines Ltd. Kiena Mine Complex. This move is part of the company’s original proposed drill program. A minimum of 10 holes are slated to test targets in this area. To date 21 holes totalling 4,956 meters of drilling has been completed in Knick’s ongoing drill program.
Previous down hole length drill intercepts on the east part of the East- West property include:
- 07 g/t gold over 2.14 m, hole CD-156, is a historical drill result highlight from the East Zone.
- 50 g/t gold over 1.5 m, hole EW-11-03, is from the Gilbert Zone, Knick 2011 drill program, previously reported.
- 83 g/t gold over 8.55 m, hole EW-11-30, is from the Raven Zone, Knick 2011 drill program, previously reported.
Coincidently Wesdome has reported results today, February 8, 2017, on its newly discovered north northwest trending basal-komatiite contact zone on its Kiena Mine Complex including;
Highlights*(Uncut and cut assay averages over core lengths*)
- Major step out holes extending trend to a tested length of 550 m:
- 63 g/t gold over 11.0 m uncut (6.63 g/t cut) in hole 6146
- 67 g/t gold over 8.2 m uncut (5.53 g/t cut) in hole 6147
There is no guarantee that similar gold mineralization is present and or will be found on the East-West property.
Knick’s 100% owned East-West property is located in the Val d’Or-Malartic mining camp of Quebec, Canada. Its neighbours on strike to the east and west respectively are, Wesdome Gold Mines Ltd. (TSX: WDO) Kiena Mine and Osisko Mining Inc. (TSX: OSK) Marban Mine. The property is bound to the north by claims recently acquired by Agnico Eagle Mines Ltd. (TSX: AEM). Adjacent to the south of Knick’s ground is the Malartic Goldfields Mine property recently acquired and held jointly by Agnico Eagle Mines Ltd. and Yamana Gold Inc. (TSX: YRI).
