Barrick Gold’s Munk Endorses John Thornton as Replacement

The Financial Post reported that Barrick Gold is actively seeking the successor to founder and Chairman Peter Munk, and is indicating that they are leaning towards his co-Chairman, John Thornton.

As quoted in the market report:

It is indeed our great fortune that he has reached a point in his spectacular career at the same time when our need for someone of his exceptional qualifications, credentials and experience also reached a decision point,” he said.
