“You don’t have to have all your money in mining,” Jim Letourneau said at the Vancouver Resource Investment Conference. He suggests investors diversify into biotechnology and technology in 2014.

At last month’s Vancouver Resource Investment Conference, Jim Letourneau, publisher of the Big Picture Speculator newsletter, spoke with Investing News Network Editor Vivien Diniz.
In the interview below, Letourneau emphasizes that the key to success in today’s markets is to step back. “You don’t have to have all your money in mining,” he said, suggesting that investors diversify into the biotechnology and technology sectors in 2014.
He also touches on Canada’s oil and gas reserves, noting that the big question at the moment is who is going to buy those resources. If no export system is put in place, he states, they are going to become stranded.
Moving forward, Letourneau is cautiously optimistic about resource market the next few months and thinks some of the current uptick “might be due to the Canadian dollar being devalued against the US dollar.”
