Titan Minerals Exec Optimistic About Major Discovery in Ecuador
“For a junior company to have three projects of this quality puts us in a really fortunate position and is a fantastic opportunity for a major discovery," said Titan Minerals CEO Matthew Carr.
Titan Minerals CEO Optimistic About Opportunity for Major Discovery in Ecuadoryoutu.be
Titan Minerals (ASX:TTM) is advancing epithermal gold-silver and porphyry copper assets in Ecuador — Latin America’s second most attractive jurisdiction for mining investment, according to Fraser Institute.
Titan Minerals reported long intervals of porphyry-style chalcopyrite-pyritemolybdenite mineralisation observed in the first holes at the Copper Ridge prospect at the Linderos project in Southern Ecuador.
“We're pretty excited … we're seeing (the mineralisation) … from the shallows, 4 or 5 metres when we started the drilling,” Titan Minerals CEO Matthew Carr said. "We're hoping we're on the cusp of a major discovery. Results dictate that, so we're keenly waiting for those assays to turn around so we can inform the market."
Titan Minerals has three projects in Ecuador within 5,052 kilometres of the Peruvian-Ecuadorian border. In May 2022, the company received high-grade gold and silver results for a further 12 diamond drill holes and 12 channels from the Cerro Verde prospect within its Dynasty gold project in Southern Ecuador.
“Only probably 20 percent of the concession has been explored to this point, so it's largely underexplored,” Carr said. "So we've got the team in there doing a hell of a lot of work in preparation for the next round of drilling."
He added that the company is also working on the Copper Duke project, with several targets being worked up at the moment. He said the Copper Duke project has captivated the attention of the North American market.
“We've been inundated with majors and juniors out of Canada — everyone wanting joint ventures,” he said. “We feel that for a junior company to have three projects of this quality puts us in a really fortunate position and is a fantastic opportunity for a major discovery.”
