SMH reported Laramide Resources (TSX:LAM) spiked 33 percent and Summit Resources (ASX:SMM) climbed 21 percent on news that Queensland has lifted its 30 year uranium mining ban.

As quoted in the market news:

The policy to ban uranium mining was a relic of the Cold War, where the big concern was nuclear proliferation. In the 1950s to 1980s people and politicians were worried about a nuclear holocaust, now they’re worried about the carnage associated with global warming and fossil fuels.

There are 44 companies listed in Australasia, Europe and North America that have uranium associated projects in Queensland, most of them companies with very small market caps.
