India’s Iron Ore Exports Fall for Seventh Consecutive Month

Bloomberg reported that higher taxes on shipments and bans on exports from one of its busy ports have caused iron ore shipments from India to fall for a seventh consecutive month.

The market news is quoted as saying:

Shipments from the state of Goa fell 6.5 percent to 7.2 million tons in January, while exports from the southern city of Chennai fell to 11,000 tons from 688,000 tons a year earlier.
