Twelve months ago platinum prices sat at $1,642.50, currently they are trading at $1,539. Over the same period gold prices have risen over $300 to a current price just below $1,700.
A large portion of the reason behind this poor showing by the white metal is the expectation of poor economic growth around the globe and the impact this is likely to have on demand for the metal.
