Diamond Prices Appreciate 5%, Sandy Takes Orders

Mineweb reported polished diamonds prices have appreciated by 5% ahead of the festival season in India, but sellers are worried Sandy will keep buyers from the U.S.

As quoted in the market news:

Superstorm Sandy, which has devastated the United States, has wreaked a different kind of havoc with Indian diamond exporters.

Already buffeted by the economic slowdown in the developed world, diamond exporters were looking forward to the Christmas orders from the United States to tide over the crisis.
