By volume, exports rose 5 percent to 633,746 carats as the average price increased 19 percent to $2,097.16 per carat.
Belgium’s polished exports to the U.S. rose 42 percent to $441.3 million during the month, while exports to Israel rose 26 percent to $152.1 million. Exports to India grew 9 percent to $55.4 million, while exports to Hong Kong rose 24 percent and those to Switzerland increased by 8 percent to $103.9 million.
