    High Gas Cost May Force Japan to Keep Nuclear Power

    Bloomberg reported that although Japan has pledged to scrap nuclear power by 2040, the rising costs of gas may force them to keep nuclear energy as part of their energy mix.

    Bloomberg reported that although Japan has pledged to scrap nuclear power by 2040, the rising costs of gas may force them to keep nuclear energy as part of their energy mix.

    As quoted in the market report:

    While Japan is paying about five times as much for gas as buyers in the U.S., Yukio Edano, Japan’s Trade and Industry Minister, disagrees with those advocating getting as much as 25 percent of Japan’s future power from reactors.
