Tasmanian Government Rejects Call for Delay on Tarkine Mining Decision

ABC reported Tasmania’s Resources Minister has rejected calls to delay a decision on mining in Tasmania’s Tarkine.

The market news is quoted as saying,

The area in the state’s north-west is being considered for listing by the National Heritage Council on the basis of its rainforest, heathlands and devil habitat.

Venture Minerals has applied to mine tin, tungsten and other metals in an open pit mine at Mount Lindsay in the Tarkine.
