CleanTechnica reported that Voltabox, the US subsidiary of Germany’s Paragon AG (FWB:PGN), has opened a new lithium-ion battery plant in Texas. Paragon AG is reportedly targeting the bus and logistics industries.
    As quoted in the publication:

The production plant, which is located in Cedar Park, is now operational — with one completely automated assembly line for lithium-ion battery packs now up and running. Alongside the production activity, the facility will also be home to the US-based offices of associated German partners.
For some background here, Voltabox currently develops two different battery systems, each based around different types of cell technology: “iron-phosphate (cylindrical), and nickel-manganese-cobalt-oxide (prismatic), each offering their own distinct advantages,” as noted by Green Car Congress. “Voltabox Li-ion battery systems have been specifically designed for an extremely wide range of applications.”
Reportedly, paragon AG is planning to offer up lithium-ion battery packs to customers in the bus industry, as well as the logistics industry. It’s apparently intended that production will be ramped up at a later point to supply North American manufacturers.
