iNVEZZ.com reported that silver rose Monday for the third session in a row. The white metal was buoyed by a weaker US dollar and increased safe-haven demand.

As quoted in the market news:

Silver for immediate delivery had gained 0.15 percent, or about three cents, to $17.31 per ounce as of 06:30 GMT today, to be trading about 1.6 percent above its 50-day simple moving average of $17.03. In the final session of last week, silver prices jumped nearly three percent, erasing losses incurred earlier this month, and ended the week 3.8 percent up. The precious metal found support from a weaker greenback, which slid as a report from the University of Michigan, released on Friday, showed that US consumer sentiment fell in February from an 11-year high.
