Yaniv Marcus of Leibish & Co. discusses the impending supply squeeze for natural fancy colored diamonds.

Speaking with Diamond Investing News, Yaniv Marcus, investment strategist at Leibish & Co., a supplier of natural fancy colored diamonds of all colors and sizes, explains the ins and outs of supply and demand for such diamonds.

“In the short term … we feel that demand is very strong in Asia, China, Japan, South Korea, Singapore — the whole Asia Pacific area,” he said. Indeed, the company is so confident in that outlook that it recently announced a long-term partnership with Kela, one of China’s top online diamond e-commerce players.

In closing, Marcus touches on what mining companies may do to meet that strong demand, also explaining how natural fancy colored diamond prices will be affected by those market dynamics.
