Rapaport reported that the Christie’s Hong Kong sale of Magnificent Jewels raised $111,337,708, the highest ever total for a jewelry auction in Asia. The top lot was a diamond riviere necklace with a total carat weight of 104.84; it sold for $8,144,064.

Other top lots included a 13.21-carat oval-shaped Burmese ruby ring that achieved a price of $5,966,784, a magnificent diamond necklace by Harry Winston that sold for $5,095,872 and an 12.85-carat, VVS1, oval-shaped fancy intense orangy-pink diamond ring (pictured), which achieved a record price for that color of diamond at $4,950,720 or $385,000 per carat, according to Christie’s.
