Last week, the share prices of a number of junior resource companies on the TSX Venture Exchange increased.
The five that saw the greatest increases were Asian Mineral Resources (TSXV:ASN), First Bauxite (TSXV:FBX), Focus Graphite (OTCMKTS:FCSMF), Regulus Resources (TSXV:REG) and Fortress Minerals (TSVX:FST.H).
    Asian Mineral Resources
This Canada-based mining and exploration company was the top gainer on the TSXV last week, rising 42.86 percent. Asian Mineral Resources mainly focuses on its Ban Phuc project in Northwestern Vietnam. The joint-venture project includes an underground mine and a processing plant for producing nickel–copper concentrate. The project is expected to have more than 200,000 tons of nickel and 18,000 tons of copper. The company also owns 100 percent of AMR Nickel Limited, which is responsible for 90 percent of Ban Phuc Nickel Mines LLC.
    First Bauxite
This Canadian natural resources company rose 27.27 percent last week. First Bauxite explores and develops bauxite deposits in Guyana, South America. The company is headquartered in Toronto and aims to become a “near term, medium-size producer and supplier of high-quality refractory grade calcined bauxite,” its website states. First Bauxite’s projects include Bonasika, which has five deposits with a measured and indicated mineral resource of more than 13 million tonnes. The project is located in Guyana’s historical coastal bauxite belt.
    Focus Graphite Inc
Focus Graphite rose 23.08 percent on the TSXV last week. The Canadian company owns the Lac Knife project in the Côte Nord region of Quebec. The project is the highest grade, large natural flake graphite deposit in the world, according to Focus’ website. The production of large, medium and small-flake graphite will help meet rising global demand in the industrial and technology sectors, the company states. On Dec. 19, Focus Graphite announced it had entered into an off-take agreement for Lac Knife’s future graphite production. The agreement for up to 40,000 tonnes of graphic concentrate per year was entered between Focus and an industrial conglomerate of companies in Dalian City, Liaoning Province, China.
    Regulus Resources Inc.
Regulus Resources gained 21.05 percent on the TSXV last week. The mineral exploration company owns 50 percent in the Rio Grande copper-gold project of Northwestern Argentina. Pachamama Resources Inc. owns the other 50 percent. Regulus said copper-gold-silver mineralization occurs within a 2-kilometer diameter ring-shaped fracture zone with copper and gold geochemical anomalies. Additional discoveries, however, have increased the area of known mineralization by more than 50 percent, Regulus states. On Dec. 23, Regulus announced it had reached an agreement whereby Regulus has been granted an option to earn a 50 percent interest in Highway 50 Gold’s (TSXV:TAT) Golden Brew gold property in Nevada.
    Fortress Minerals Corp.
Fortress gained 19.68 percent on the TSXV last week. Canada-based Fortress focuses on gold exploration projects in Russia. Its mission is to build a portfolio of large-scale, advanced stage gold exploration projects, 24Gold reported.
