China Implementing More Stringent Mine Safety Requirements

Platts reported that the Chinese government is requiring provinces to undertake more stringent safety checks before they are willing to restart mines after they were shut across the country through October and November for the Party Congress.

As quoted in the market report:

The announcement comes after 22 miners lost their lives during a gas explosion at a coal mine Saturday, and another two were killed in a separate incident last Wednesday.
