Mining Weekly reported De Beers’ Voorspoed mine increased its mining efficiency by 12% over a 100-day period by implementing a rapid-results project.

As quoted in the market news:

The Voorspoed mine is an openpit kimberlite mine located about 30 km north-east of Kroon- stad, in the Free State, and currently mines at a depth of 150 m. It was acquired by De Beers in 1912 from Voorspoed Mining Company, but De Beers did not operate the mine immediately. The R1.3-billion mine was officially opened in 2008.
