SMH reported a new species of succulent plants has been found at a planned uranium mine in Western Australia.

As quoted in the market news:

Environmental Protection Authority chairman Paul Vogel said it appeared new species of tecticornia were present at Toro Energy’s Wiluna uranium project in the Mid-West region.

In backing Toro’s proposal to develop WA’s first uranium mine on Monday, the EPA said a condition should be further research on tecticornia species because there could be residual impacts from mining.
