As quoted in the market news:
K+S warned earlier this week that a regional environmental regulator will taking longer than the expected November 30 deadline to decide over the disposal of waste water via deep-well injection into porous layers of rock, leaving discharge into the Werra river as the only option.
But Werra water levels are currently too low, which also limits that route of discharge, resulting in a temporary production halt at the Hattorf and Unterbreizbach mines, K+S said on Friday.
