NioBay Appoints a New Member to Its Board of Directors

Niobay Metals Inc. ("NioBay" or the "Company") (TSX-V: NBY) (OTCQB: NBYCF) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Guillaume Bacconnier to its Board of Directors, effective immediately.

Mr. Bacconnier holds a Master's degree in Polymer Science. Throughout his career, he has held various commercial and operational leadership positions in seven countries. He has been a member of the Rio Tinto Group for approximately 20 years. He currently serves as General Manager of Évolys Québec Inc., a joint venture formed by Rio Tinto and Aymium, a technology company, to produce biocarbon in Canada.

In addition, the Company has approved the grant of 150,000 incentive stock options to Mr. Bacconnier. One-third of these stock options will vest immediately, with the remaining stock options subject to a two-year vesting period. The options have a term of seven years and an exercise price of $0.08 per share. The stock options were granted pursuant to the Company's Stock Option Plan and are subject to applicable securities laws and the policies of the TSX Venture Exchange.
