Soil Sampling Program Underway To Extend Known REE Mineralised Areas At East Laverton

MTM Critical Metals Limited (ASX:MTM) (MTM or the Company) advises that the Company is extending its geochemical soil sampling program at its Pt Kidman prospect, part of the East Laverton project, located in the northern Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia (Figure 1).

Highlights:

  • An expanded geochemical soil sampling program has commenced in the Pt Kidman prospect area at the East Laverton REE project
  • The program aims to identify additional surface REE anomalies over the MTM tenement area
  • Soil sampling has been effective at identifying zones of clay-hosted REE mineralisation within the weathering profile
  • Follow-up aircore drilling proposed to test any new anomalies

MTM has previously utilised surface geochemical sampling to identify rare earth element (REE) anomalies at Pt Kidman. Subsequent aircore drilling has confirmed that significant zones of shallow, laterally continuous clay-hosted REE mineralisation is associated with these anomalies (see MTM ASX announcements dated 19 August 2022, 17 November 2022 and 15 May 2023).

The soil sampling is proposed to extend the geochemical coverage in the Pt Kidman prospect area, incorporating areas that have limited prior exploration. The Company anticipates that it will identify more REE anomalies and further aircore drilling will be considered to test these areas.

Commenting on the geochemical sampling program, Managing Director Lachlan Reynolds said:

“Soil sampling has proven to be a very effective and rapid way to assess ground for REE anomalies at the Pt Kidman prospect. We expect the survey will generate new targets for drill testing within what we recognise as a district-scale development of clay-hosted REE mineralisation.

Our exploration team has mobilised to Laverton and the sampling work has commenced on the ground. We look forward to providing shareholders with updates as the work progresses and results are received.”

A program of approximately 3,250 soil samples is proposed in the current phase of work. The focus of sampling will be across MTM tenements E38/3506, E38/3507 and E38/3765. The sampling program should be completed over the next 4 to 6 weeks.

Altiplano Metals Inc. (TSXV: APN) (WKN: A2JNFG) ("Altiplano" or the "Company") is pleased to report that a new production area has been established at the 326 m mining level at the Farellon copper-gold mine located near La Serena, Chile. Access to the 326 m level is part of the ongoing underground development of the Hugo Decline, used to access and extract copper-gold and iron material from Farellon.

Intersection of the 326 m mining level has been achieved through the advance of the Hugo Tunnel. This new level will provide opportunity to develop two new mining areas in the NE and SW directions where mining on the iron oxide copper gold vein structure has begun in these sub drift areas. This new access point will also provide opportunity mine the floors and roofs above on the 336 m and 344 m levels as part of the ongoing mining plan.
