Sanatana Resources
Discovery and Development of World Class Mineral Deposits
Overview
Sanatana Resources (TSXV:STA) is a mineral exploration company with a focus on prospective gold and copper properties. The Sanatana Resources management team has decades of combined experience in finance and mineral exploration. CEO Peter Miles has served as an advisor to a number of public and private companies in the natural resource sector, including Roughrider Uranium Inc. At the private stage, he financed Roughrider and was later instrumental in the Hathor Exploration Inc.’s acquisition of Roughrider by Hathor, which was later acquired by Rio Tinto plc in 2011 for US$654 million. President Buddy Doyle is a veteran geologist whose track record of success includes the discovery and evaluation of the Lihir Gold Mine in Papua New Guinea and the Diavik Diamond mine in Canada. Doyle is the recipient of the 2004 Hugo Dummitt award for Excellence in Diamond Exploration.
The company’s “Gold Rush” project is located in the world-class mining district of Timmins, Ontario. The Timmins Gold Camp has produced more than 70 million ounces of gold and recent exploration activity in the region has highlighted the district’s potential for further significant gold discoveries. Sanatana is fully permitted and has begun an initial exploration campaign at Gold Rush that will lead to a drill program planned for January 2021.
The company also plans to explore the copper and gold potential of its Tirua project in the Solomon Islands, as well as the Sutakiki project. Located north of Australia and east of Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands is a stable mining jurisdiction with all the benefits of its geological address in the mineral-rich Pacific Ring of Fire.
Sanatana holds a 1 percent royalty on the Watershed Property that surrounds IAMGOLD’s Cote deposit in Ontario. In October 2020, Sanatana announced that Ely Gold Royalties sold the Watershed Royalty to Ely Gold for consideration comprising $2,500,000 in cash and 1,000,000 Ely Gold warrants.
