Kenorland Commences Maiden Diamond Drill Program at the Healy Project in Alaska

Kenorland Minerals Ltd. (TSXV: KLD) (FSE: 3WQ0) ( "Kenorland" or "the Company" ) is pleased to announce the commencement of drilling at the Healy Project ( the "Project" ), located within Alaska's prolific Goodpaster mining district. This maiden diamond drill program will consist of approximately 4,000 meters over 10 holes, testing 3 target areas defined by strong gold in soil anomalism.  The drill program is scheduled to last approximately two months and will be completed near the end of July.

Zach Flood , CEO of Kenorland states, "We're thrilled to be back in Alaska and kicking off the maiden diamond drill program at Healy . This project represents an excellent opportunity for another completely greenfields gold discovery.  The systematic regional exploration work completed by Newmont from 2010 to 2013 initially identified the presence of this significant gold system.  When we optioned the ground in 2018, we continued the exploration efforts and have since then refined a number of high priority drill targets within these large-scale gold-in-soil anomalies. What's even more exciting is that this system sits within a district that hosts one of the major Alaskan gold mines, Pogo."

Advanced Exploration Targets

In 2019, the Company carried out a reconnaissance style track-mounted reverse circulation (RC) drill program consisting of a total of 800m from 10 shallow holes. The drilling encountered broadly disseminated gold mineralization over a 100 meter wide structural corridor within the Bronk Zone, including 0.42g/t Au over 49.4m , from surface, and bottoming in mineralization (see press release dated October 21, 2019 ). In 2020 the Company completed detailed geochemical and geophysical surveys covering multiple target areas. This work included infill soil sampling at a spacing of 50m by 50m , a high-resolution airborne magnetic survey as well as ground VLF electromagnetic (VLF-EM) and ground magnetic surveys.  In addition, the company completed 10 vertical profiles of 2D induced polarization geophysics (IP) for a total of 10 line kilometers over selected targets within the areas defined by detailed soil sampling, magnetic and EM surveys. The results of the comprehensive 2020 field program clearly defined multiple robust gold-in-soil anomalies associated with structural features and IP anomalies within all target areas.

About the Healy Project

Located in the prolific Goodpaster Mining District of Alaska , home of the Pogo gold mine, the Healy Project covers numerous untested gold targets within an 18,470-hectare land package. The Healy Project was first identified and staked by Newmont Corporation ( "Newmont" ) in 2012, following a two-year regional stream sediment sampling program in eastern Alaska . Follow-up prospecting, mapping and systematic soil sampling defined numerous, kilometer-scale gold, arsenic and antimony in soil anomalies. Healy is located along a major northeast trending fault system, as well as the prospective regional contact between metasedimentary rocks and Cretaceous intrusive rocks, similar to the neighbouring Pogo and Tibbs areas. The property scale structural geology is defined by numerous low-angle thrust faults cut by steeply dipping northeast trending faults. Gold anomalism seems to be spatially associated with both steeply dipping faults and low angle thrust faults. No recorded exploration work had been done on the Healy Project prior to Newmont in 2012 and 2013. In 2018, Kenorland Minerals (formally Northway Resources Corp.) entered into an option agreement to earn up to a 70% interest in the project by funding US$4 million in exploration expenditures over a period of four years.

Overview

Many exploration companies focus on making discoveries by acquiring and drilling properties where historical mines had previously operated, or where other occurrences have been known about. However, one company suggests that a significant opportunity exists to make completely new greenfields discoveries through large-scale systematic exploration in otherwise under-explored regions of world-class mining districts.

Kenorland Minerals Ltd. (TSXV:KLD,OTCQX: NWRCF,FSE: 3WQ0) is a Canada-based mineral exploration company that is focused on making new discoveries through large-scale early-stage exploration within Quebec and Alaska, two of the world's most geologically prospective mining jurisdictions. The company is led by an experienced team of geoscientists with a deep understanding of mineral systems and exploration methodology. Kenorland's approach to exploration is simple: Identify under-explored areas within proven mineral districts, acquire large land positions covering prospective geology, and carry out large-scale, systematic exploration to screen these areas for new mineral deposits. The approach is not novel but the scale at which the company is exploring sets them apart from their peers. The company currently holds and is exploring over 400,000 hectares of ground in these world renowned jurisdictions.

Kenorland Minerals' Company Highlights

  • Well-funded with over $9,500,000 cash in the treasury.
  • Tight share structure with large insider ownership and strong long term shareholders including Quebec-based institutional funds and well-known financiers including John Tognetti and Paul Stephens.
  • Exposure to a vast portfolio of exploration ground with over 400,000 hectares of mineral tenure within Alaska, Quebec and Manitoba.
  • Earn-in agreements with Sumitomo Metal Mining and Newmont Corporation funding exploration on greenfields projects in Quebec.
  • The company recently made a major gold discovery in Quebec in an area with no known previous exploration. Initial scout drilling in early 2020 intersected 29.08 meters at 8.47 g/t gold and 11.13 meters at 18.43 g/t gold. Drilling continuing in Q1 2021.
  • Significant discovery potential on the Healy property which covers a newly recognized large-scale gold system in the Goodpaster district of Alaska. Initial diamond drill testing in Summer 2021.
  • Further significant discovery potential on Kenorland's 100 percent owned Tanacross Project, located in eastern Alaska, which covers a significant cluster of porphyry copper-gold systems. Drilling planned for Summer 2021.
  • A total of three projects being drill tested in 2021 as well as a pipeline of additional projects being advanced through systematic exploration. Continual project generation and evaluation of new opportunities.
  • Kenorland acquired district-scale land package in Ontario's Birch-Uchi Greenstone Belt by staking, 65,657 hectares of mineral claims.

Sun Summit Minerals Eyes "Multimillion-Ounce" Gold Deposit at JD Project

Sun Summit Minerals (TSXV:SMN,OTCQB:SMREF) is advancing toward a multimillion-ounce resource at its flagship JD gold project in BC following “fantastic” results from the first drill hole, which showed high-grade, shallow mineralization, according to CEO Niel Marotta.

“The thesis here is that, if we prove up a multimillion-ounce deposit, we really think there's 10x potential in our market cap. We're trading at about a C$40 million market cap now, which is about 10 percent of our neighbors. So that, I think, is what people ought to focus on,” he said.

In a recent announcement, Sun Summit reported that the first hole completed in 2025 returned “one of the strongest intervals of consistent and near-surface gold mineralization” drilled to date at the Creek zone. Results include 78 meters of 3.72 grams per ton gold starting at 30 meters down hole. The company plans to conduct follow-up drilling this season.
