Mr Brian Thomas, Lanthanein Technical Director commented “Our first pass Aircore drilling has returned exceptional visual results highlighting a significant areal extent of high quality bright white kaolin at our Koolya Project in Western Australia. High purity kaolin is of rising importance as a critical mineral due to the processing into High Purity Alumina (HPA) which is being used in Li‐ion batteries, LED lighting, Semiconductors and Sapphire glass. Samples will also be sent for dual analysis for rare earths and to identify if the mineral Halloysite is present. Halloysite can be used in nano technologies for a range of industry applications including carbon sequestration, agriculture, energy, and health. Exploring for critical minerals and rare earths is of paramount importance for our company as we aim to find the future facing minerals used in the global clean energy transition.”
Analysis will now be completed on the samples to quantify the specific characteristics such as ISO Brightness, Alumina content, presence of Halloysite and rare earth elements (REE). Following positive results further infill and step out drilling will be completed to assist with a mineral resource estimate for H2, 2023.
