NASDAQ reported that according to the U.S. Department of Energy, natural-gas inventories are not falling as expected this winter.

As quoted in the market news:

Natural gas held in storage by companies fell just 76 billion cubic feet to 3.5 trillion cubic feet in the week ending Dec. 30, the U.S. Department of Energy reported this week. The five-year average for the week is a decline of 106 billion cubic feet.
