Silver prices continued their upward trend on July 9. COMEX silver for September delivery was up $0.08, to $19.12 an ounce, a 0.4-percent increase, according to Forbes. Spot silver saw a similar increase of $0.11, rising to $19.15 an ounce.
Commodity prices have increased for the second straight day after Friday’s employment data for non-farm payrolls was released, showing better-than-expected unemployment numbers. That may be an indication that the US Federal Reserve will begin curbing its stimulus program as soon as the end of this year.
