The company confirmed the strike started on 9 September 2012. The company has also announced that the Beatrix Mine is also experiencing a strike which started on Friday September 21, 2012.
As quoted in the press release:
The large majority of the 15,000 employees at KDC West and 9,000 employees at Beatrix are participating in the unlawful strikes and production has been halted at both operations.
