Gold Fields Declare Confirms Unlawful Strike at KDC and Beatrix
Gold Fields Limited (NYSE:GFI) announced the confirmation that it is experiencing an unlawful and unprotected strike at the West Section of the KDC Gold Mine in South Africa. The company confirmed the strike started on 9 September 2012.
Gold Fields Limited (NYSE:GFI) announced the confirmation that it is experiencing an unlawful and unprotected strike at the West Section of the KDC Gold Mine in South Africa. The company confirmed the strike started on 9 September 2012. The company has also announced that the Beatrix Mine is also experiencing a strike which started on Friday September 21, 2012.
As quoted in the press release:
The large majority of the 15,000 employees at KDC West and 9,000 employees at Beatrix are participating in the unlawful strikes and production has been halted at both operations.
