Colina Lithium Prospect Mineralised Strike Extends to Over 1KM

Latin Resources Limited (ASX: LRS) (“Latin” or “the Company”) is pleased to provide the latest assay results from diamond drilling at the Company’s 100% owned high-grade Colina Lithium Prospect (“Colina” or the “Project”) in Brazil, where latest results have extended the known high-grade lithium pegmatites to over one kilometre along strike. Mineralisation remains open to the south.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • The latest results from diamond drilling in the northern limits of the Colina Prospect have extended the mineralised strike length for Colina to over one kilometre.
  • Recent assay results include:

  • Logging of drill core has confirmed that the high-grade pegmatites at Colina remain open to the south, with over 14.68m and 14.41m of spodumene-bearing pegmatite logged in the southernmost holes drilled to date.

Latin Resources’ Exploration Manager, Tony Greenaway, commented:

“These latest assay results from Colina are very pleasing, extending our zone of high-grade lithium by roughly 250m to the north. We are continuing to get excellent high-grade results in from our sampling, and now have confirmed high-grade lithium intercepts over a strike length of approximately 900m and combined with drilling further to the south showing good spodumene mineralisation in drill core, we now have a strike of over one kilometre to test with our resource definition drilling.

“The more we drill at Colina, the more confident we are becoming that we are on to something very significant. We are working with a range of consultant groups, including mining and metallurgical groups to commence preliminary study work

Colina Prospect – Resource Definition Drilling Latest assay results from diamond drilling at the Company’s 100% owned Colina Lithium Prospect have extending the known high-grade lithium pegmatite mineralisation to over 900m (Figure 1). Results include:

Logging of drill core from holes SAD014 and SADD015, which are the southernmost holes drilled to date, have confirmed the presence of significant widths of spodumene bearing pegmatites (Table 1), extending the known occurrence to over one kilometre along strike, with mineralisation remaining open to the south.

The current close spaces resource definition drilling will aim to test this fill strike extent, to approximately 400m down dip, with 100m x 50m drill spacing. Data from this drilling will be used in the calculation of the Maiden JORC Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE), for the Colina Prospect. Discussions with suitably qualified independent resource consultant groups have commenced, with an anticipated delivery timeframe of December 2022.

Chris Berry: The West Must Invest in Refinement Now or Fall Further Behind

China’s grip on the battery metals sector has drawn increasing scrutiny in recent years as nations confront growing concerns around supply chain risk and resource security.

Through a blend of domestic output and aggressive overseas investment, particularly in Africa and South America, Chinese companies now command a significant share of upstream supply.

The country is responsible for roughly 60 percent of global rare earths production and controls over 70 percent of cobalt supply through its stakes in mines across the Democratic Republic of Congo.
