Investor Insight
BPH Energy offers investors exposure to tightening gas supply and emerging hydrogen and technology markets through strategic stakes in energy and medical innovation.
Overview
Australia’s gas market is tightening, with supply constraints and rising prices increasing focus on domestic energy security. At the same time, demand for lower-emission energy solutions continues to grow, supporting the role of both natural gas and hydrogen in the evolving energy mix.

BPH Energy (ASX:BPH) is positioned to participate in these trends through a portfolio of strategic investments across gas, hydrogen and technology. The company provides exposure to near-term energy supply dynamics alongside developing low-emission technologies.
Its investment in Advent Energy provides access to gas exploration assets, including PEP11 in the Sydney Basin. In parallel, Clean Hydrogen Technologies is advancing a process designed to produce hydrogen without COâ‚‚ emissions, supporting participation in emerging hydrogen markets.
BPH Energy also holds a 16.4 percent interest in Cortical Dynamics, adding exposure to medical technology with regulatory approvals and ongoing development. The company’s diversified investment base is supported by profitability, with FY2025 net profit increasing 49 percent to AU$6.8 million.

Key Investments
Advent Energy – PEP11

Advent Energy, 35.8 percent owned by BPH, holds key assets including Petroleum Exploration Permit 11 (PEP11) in the Sydney Basin. The permit spans 4,649 square kilometers and is jointly owned by Asset Energy (85 percent) and Bounty Oil & Gas NL (15 percent).
PEP11 contains an estimated prospective recoverable gas resource of 5.7 trillion cubic feet and is located less than 50 kilometers from the Sydney–Newcastle metropolitan area, placing it near major infrastructure and demand centers.
The Sydney Basin is a proven hydrocarbon basin with confirmed hydrocarbon seeps and geophysical indications of gas. The area is also located near carbon sources representing 30 percent of Australia’s CO₂ output, supporting potential carbon storage applications.
The permit is currently subject to a judicial review process following the January 2025 decision to refuse renewal. That decision has been suspended, with a Federal Court hearing held in February 2026 with a decision pending. PEP11 remains in force during this period.
Clean Hydrogen Technologies
Clean Hydrogen Technologies is advancing a thermo-catalytic pyrolysis process that converts natural gas into hydrogen and conductive carbon without producing COâ‚‚ emissions. BPH holds a 16.2 percent direct interest and a combined 20.5 percent interest alongside Advent Energy.
Following pilot operations in India, the company is progressing toward commercialization, with facilities under design in Maharashtra, India and in the United States, likely Louisiana. Initial production is planned following final project funding.
The process is supported by two US patents, with additional filings planned as development continues.
Cortical Dynamics

Cortical Dynamics is a neurotechnology company in which BPH holds a 16.4 percent interest. The company is focused on commercializing the Brain Anaesthesia Response Monitor (BARM) system.
BARM is designed to assist anesthetists in monitoring brain activity during general anesthesia using physiology-based algorithms. BARM version 1 has received FDA 510(k) clearance in the United States and regulatory approvals in Australia, the European Union and Korea.
The AI-enhanced BARM 2.0 system has completed development, with clinical trials and regulatory submissions being initiated internationally.
Cortical Dynamics also has a non-exclusive license and cooperation agreement with Philips Electronics North America to integrate BARM with operating theater monitoring systems.
