Micrex Development Corp. (TSX VENTURE:MIX) reported that the company has received new analyses from core samples from its St. Charles magnetite deposit that were drilled several years ago.

The press release is quoted as saying:

The concentrations of total rare earth elements were primarily comprised of erbium oxide (Er2O3), which averaged 20,284 ppm (2.03wt%) from hole 99-04 and 13,346 ppm (1.33wt%) from hole 99-06, along with lesser but anomalous amounts of cerium oxide (CeO2) and neodymium oxide (Nd2O3). Tests for erbium and the other rare earth elements had not been conducted during previous analyses, so this is a new addition to the Company’s interest in the value of the deposit. Erbium is used primarily in metallurgical applications, coloured glass and communication lasers.
